USS Kidd (DDG-993) was a Kidd-class guided missile destroyer originally built for the Imperial Iranian Navy before being acquired by the U.S. Navy following the 1979 Iranian Revolution. Commissioned in 1981 and named for Admiral Isaac C. Kidd — killed at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 — DDG-993 was one of the most capable surface combatants of her era.
