Commissioned on January 10, 1945, USS Chicago was a Albany-class guided-missile cruiser, homeported at Naval Base San Diego. She served the Navy for 35 years before decommissioning on March 1, 1980. Her crest carries the memory of every Sailor who served aboard her.
