    USS Enterprise (CVN-65) — the Big E — was commissioned on November 25, 1961, the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, and she served for fifty-one years. From the Cuban Missile Crisis to Vietnam, from the Cold War's long vigil to the wars that followed September 11th, CVN-65 was always at the center of American naval power. Eight nuclear reactors.
