USS Kidd (DDG-100) is an Arleigh Burke-class Flight IIA guided-missile destroyer, commissioned June 9, 2007 at Pascagoula, Mississippi and named for Rear Admiral Isaac C. Kidd — killed aboard USS Arizona during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Kidd was the first U.S. flag officer killed by enemy action in World War II and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. Now homeported at NAS Everett, Washington, DDG-100 carries that legacy of leadership under fire into the modern Pacific Fleet, deploying with carrier strike groups across the Western Pacific. This framed ship photo is a tribute to her crew and the namesake who never left his battle station.
