USS Lake Champlain (CG-57) is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser, commissioned August 12, 1988 at Pascagoula, Mississippi and named for the 1814 Battle of Lake Champlain — the decisive American naval victory in the War of 1812 that turned back the British invasion of New York. Homeported at NAS North Island, San Diego, she has served the Pacific Fleet through more than three decades of deployments including operations in the Persian Gulf, Western Pacific, and Indian Ocean. As an Aegis air defense platform she has stood watch alongside multiple carrier strike groups. This framed ship photo is a tribute to her crew and the legacy of one of the Navy's most experienced Tico cruisers.
