USS Midway (CVA-41) w/ hull number Neck Gaiter

USS Midway was commissioned in 1945 as CVA-41 — Attack Aircraft Carrier — and spent the Cold War decades as one of the most forward-deployed ships in the Pacific Fleet. Operating from Yokosuka, Japan for much of her career, Midway was the first U.S. carrier continuously homeported overseas and was always within reach of the Pacific's most critical flashpoints. Redesignated CV-41 in 1975, she served until 1992. This neck gaiter honors her crew and their decades of dedicated service far from home.
