USS Saratoga (CVA-60) was a Forrestal-class carrier commissioned on April 14, 1956. One of the original American supercarriers, she served with the Atlantic Fleet throughout her career, participating in the Cuban Missile Crisis blockade in 1962, the 1986 strikes on Libya, and Operation Desert Shield in 1990. Redesignated CV-60 in 1972, she was decommissioned in 1994 after nearly four decades of distinguished service. This neck gaiter honors the proud legacy of Saratoga and all who served aboard her.
