In the fall of 1983, USS New Jersey (BB-62) was ordered to the Eastern Mediterranean to support the Multi-National Peacekeeping Force stationed in Beirut, Lebanon. Amid the chaos of the Lebanese Civil War and following the devastating October 1983 Marine barracks bombing that killed 241 Americans, New Jersey positioned off the coast and in December 1983 fired her 16-inch guns against Syrian and Druze artillery positions in the Shouf Mountains. She again fired her main battery in February 1984 in one of the most powerful naval shore bombardments of the modern era. This durable vinyl sticker honors the crew of USS New Jersey who served during this dangerous and historic deployment in support of the Multi-National Peacekeeping Force in Beirut.
