USS New York (LPD-21) is a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock, commissioned November 7, 2009 in a ceremony at the same New York Harbor where the Statue of Liberty stands. Her bow stem is forged from 7.5 tons of steel salvaged from the World Trade Center towers, making her one of the most personally meaningful ships in the U.S. Navy. Her motto, "Never Forget," carries the memory of the lives lost on September 11, 2001 to sea on every deployment. Homeported at Naval Station Mayport, Florida, she has deployed across the Mediterranean, the Persian Gulf, and the Caribbean. This framed ship photo is a tribute to her crew and to the lives lost on 9/11 — never forgotten.
