USS Saratoga (CVA-60) was a Forrestal-class carrier commissioned on April 14, 1956. One of the original American supercarriers, she served with the Atlantic Fleet throughout her career, participating in the Cuban Missile Crisis blockade in 1962, the 1986 strikes on Libya, and Operation Desert Shield in 1990.
