USS Barry (DDG-52) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned in 1992 and named for Commodore John Barry, often called the "Father of the American Navy." Homeported in Norfolk, Virginia, Barry has deployed to the Mediterranean, Persian Gulf, and Western Pacific in support of operations including Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Equipped with the Aegis Combat System, she represents a formidable multi-mission surface combatant.
