In January 2002, USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) departed Everett and sailed into history. The 2002-03 deployment took her through Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom — more than 16,500 combat sorties, sixteen months at sea, and a flight deck visit from the Commander in Chief that made headlines around the world.
