The Gulf of Sidra, March 1986. Muammar Gaddafi had declared the waters south of 32°30'N off-limits and called it the Line of Death — a line no nation was permitted to cross. USS America and her battle group crossed it anyway, and when Libya launched missiles, American naval aviation answered decisively.
