USS Chafee (DDG-90) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned in 2003 and named for Senator John H. Chafee of Rhode Island — a decorated Marine Corps veteran of World War II and Korea who later served as Secretary of the Navy. Homeported in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Chafee has deployed to the Western Pacific conducting ballistic missile defense, maritime security operations, and exercises with allied navies across the Pacific Fleet area.
