How to measure: lay a shirt that fits you well on a flat surface. Measure across the chest from armpit to armpit (chest width) and from the highest point of the shoulder to the bottom hem (length), then compare to the chart.

USS Dale (CG-19) deployed in 1982–83 as one of the Navy's Leahy-class guided missile cruisers — purpose-built fleet escorts designed to provide area air defense in the missile age. Named for Commodore Richard Dale, who served as first lieutenant aboard John Paul Jones's Bonhomme Richard during its legendary fight with HMS Serapis, she carried a warrior's heritage into a Cold War deployment that demanded steady vigilance. The early 1980s were an assertive period for the U.S. Navy, and Dale's crew brought the same professionalism to that cruise that had defined the ship since her commissioning in 1963.
