Commissioned on March 28, 1970, USS Detroit was a Fast combat support ship fast combat support ship, homeported at Naval Weapons Station Earle. She served the Navy for 35 years before decommissioning on February 17, 2005. Her crest carries the memory of every Sailor who served aboard her.
