USS Donald Cook (DDG-75) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned in 1998 and named for Private First Class Donald G. Cook, a Marine Corps officer and Medal of Honor recipient who died as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. Homeported in Rota, Spain, Donald Cook operates with NATO allies in the Mediterranean and Black Sea. In 2014, the ship gained international attention when a Russian Su-24 aircraft made repeated close passes near her in the Black Sea.
