USS Gonzalez (DDG-66) Spiral Notebook

USS Gonzalez (DDG-66) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned in 1996 and named for Sergeant Alfredo Cantú Gonzalez, a Marine Corps hero posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for extraordinary valor during the Battle of Hue City, Vietnam in 1968. Repeatedly exposing himself to enemy fire while directing and rallying his platoon, his courage defined the fighting spirit of the Corps. Homeported in Norfolk, Gonzalez has deployed to the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf in support of Atlantic Fleet operations.
