USS Higgins (DDG-76) Ship's Crest Mug

USS Higgins (DDG-76) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned on April 24, 1999. Named for William R. "Wild Bill" Higgins, a Marine lieutenant colonel taken hostage and murdered by Hezbollah in Lebanon in 1988, the ship honors his sacrifice with every deployment. Arleigh Burke-class destroyers like Higgins are among the most capable warships afloat, equipped with the Aegis combat system and capable of conducting anti-submarine, anti-surface, and anti-air warfare simultaneously.
