USS Hopper (DDG-70) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned in 1997 and named for Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, a pioneering computer scientist and Navy officer who developed the first compiler for a computer programming language and championed machine-independent programming. Known as "Amazing Grace," she shaped the modern computing age while serving in the Navy for over four decades. Homeported in Pearl Harbor, Hopper has deployed in support of Pacific Fleet and Indo-Pacific operations.
