USS John F. Kennedy (CVA-67) entered service on September 7, 1968 as the last conventionally powered attack carrier built for the United States Navy. Named for the 35th President — himself a decorated Navy veteran — she served as the Navy's premier strike platform through the Cold War, Mediterranean deployments, and operations in the Adriatic and Persian Gulf before her redesignation as CV-67 in 1975. This throw blanket displays her original attack carrier crest.
