USS John F. Kennedy (CVA-67) entered service in 1968 as an attack aircraft carrier — the last conventionally powered carrier built for the U.S. Navy, named for the 35th President. She carried the CVA designation until 1975, when she was redesignated CV-67, and served until 2007.
