<p>USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) was a Kitty Hawk-class supercarrier commissioned on April 29, 1961, and one of the longest-serving carriers in U.S. Navy history. Her 1985 Western Pacific deployment continued more than two decades of tireless service, with Carrier Air Wing Eleven executing sustained flight operations across the Pacific. Homeported at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, Kitty Hawk remained a cornerstone of U.S. Pacific Fleet power through the height of the Cold War.
