The USS Mars (AFS-1) ship's crest on a 12″ × 17″ garden flag — a clean, understated way for veterans and families to fly the ship's colors at home or at the next reunion.

Commissioned on December 21, 1963, USS Mars was the lead ship of the Mars-class combat stores ships. She served the Navy for 30 years before decommissioning on February 1, 1993. Her crest carries the memory of every Sailor who served aboard her.
