USS Michael Murphy (DDG-112) completed her maiden deployment in 2014–2015, operating with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group in the Western Pacific and Middle East. During this historic first deployment, Michael Murphy conducted maritime security operations, theater security cooperation activities, and power projection missions across multiple areas of responsibility. The ship honored her namesake, Medal of Honor recipient Navy SEAL Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, by upholding his legacy of valor and service throughout the deployment.
