USS Milius (DDG-69) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer named for Paul Lionel Milius, a Navy officer killed in Vietnam in 1969 and awarded the Navy Cross for his courage during a mission to rescue a downed pilot. Forward-deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, Milius operates with the Seventh Fleet across the Western Pacific, conducting freedom-of-navigation operations in the South China Sea and exercises with allied navies throughout the Indo-Pacific.
