USS Princeton (CG-59) is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser, commissioned February 11, 1989 at Pascagoula, Mississippi and named for the 1777 Battle of Princeton — Washington's pivotal Revolutionary War victory in New Jersey. Homeported at NAS North Island, San Diego, Princeton is best known as one of two coalition warships struck by Iraqi mines on February 18, 1991 during Operation Desert Storm. Despite serious damage, her crew kept her afloat and operational, returning her to service after extensive repairs. As an Aegis air defense platform she has stood watch alongside multiple Pacific Fleet carrier strike groups across more than three decades. This framed ship photo is a tribute to her crew and the legacy of one of the Navy's most resilient warships.
