USS Ranger (CV-61) Operation Desert Storm Sweatshirt

USS Ranger (CV-61) was a Forrestal-class aircraft carrier commissioned on August 10, 1957, homeported at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, California. Named for the Continental sloop-of-war Ranger commanded by John Paul Jones, Ranger answered the call when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990. The carrier deployed to the Persian Gulf and flew combat sorties as part of Operation Desert Storm beginning January 17, 1991, with the Ranger Battle Group participating throughout the 43-day air campaign. This sweatshirt honors the crew of USS Ranger and their service during Operation Desert Storm.
