USS Ranger (CVA-61) 1959 Cruise Sweatshirt

USS Ranger (CVA-61) completed her maiden WestPac deployment in 1959, just two years after commissioning at Newport News. Departing NAS Alameda, she transited to the Western Pacific and joined the Seventh Fleet, making port calls at Yokosuka, Japan and Subic Bay, Philippines. This inaugural cruise established Ranger as a frontline attack carrier of the Cold War Pacific Fleet.
