USS San Jacinto (CG-56) is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser commissioned on January 23, 1988, and homeported at Naval Station Mayport, Florida. Named for the 1836 battle that secured Texas independence, and renowned as the ship that fired the first Tomahawk missiles of Desert Storm in 1991, San Jacinto continued her distinguished service throughout the 1990s. This sweatshirt commemorates the Sailors of CG-56 who deployed in 1994, operating in support of carrier strike group and fleet operations during a period of active post-Cold War naval engagement.
