USS Taylor (FFG-50) was an Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided-missile frigate commissioned on 1 December 1984. She was named in honor of Lieutenant Commander Jesse G. Taylor, a naval aviator killed in action during World War II. Throughout her career Taylor conducted counter-narcotics patrols, escorted tankers during the Iran-Iraq War Tanker War, and deployed to the Mediterranean, Black Sea, and Persian Gulf.
