USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) is a Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier commissioned on 25 October 1986 and known as "The Big Stick." This sweatshirt commemorates her 2003 cruise, during which CVN-71 deployed to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom — the invasion of Iraq. On 1 May 2003, President George W. Bush landed aboard Theodore Roosevelt and delivered his famous address marking the end of major combat operations.
