Commissioned on November 24, 1984, USS Vandegrift was a Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided-missile frigate, homeported at Naval Base San Diego. She served the Navy for 31 years before decommissioning on February 19, 2015. Her crest carries the memory of every Sailor who served aboard her.
