USS Yellowstone (AD-41) was a Samuel Gompers-class destroyer tender commissioned in 1980 and named for America's first national park. Serving as a floating repair and maintenance facility for destroyer squadrons, she kept Sixth Fleet surface combatants mission-capable in the Atlantic and Mediterranean with machine-shop, electronics, and hull-repair services through the latter Cold War. She was decommissioned in 1996.
