Strike Fighter Squadron 125 (VFA-125), the "Rough Raiders," was the first Fleet Replacement Squadron established for the F/A-18 Hornet, stood up at NAS Lemoore, California, in 1980. VFA-125 trained the initial cadre of West Coast F/A-18 aircrews and pioneered Hornet integration into carrier aviation.
