USS Independence (CV-62) Spiral Notebook

USS Independence (CV-62) was a Forrestal-class aircraft carrier commissioned in 1959. She deployed regularly to the Mediterranean and western Pacific throughout the Cold War, serving during the Vietnam era and in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1990–91. After 37 years of distinguished service, she was decommissioned in 1998 and was sunk as a target vessel in 2019.
