USS Carney (DDG-64) Spiral Notebook

USS Carney (DDG-64) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned in 1996 and named for Admiral Robert B. Carney, Chief of Naval Operations 1953–1955. Homeported in Mayport, Florida, Carney deployed frequently to the Mediterranean and European waters. In 2023, Carney made history as the first U.S. Navy ship to shoot down Houthi ballistic missiles and drones in the Red Sea — a feat accomplished over multiple engagements.
