USS Gridley (DDG-101) Spiral Notebook

USS Gridley (DDG-101) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned in 2003 and named for Captain Charles Vernon Gridley, who commanded USS Olympia at the Battle of Manila Bay in 1898. When Commodore Dewey gave the famous order "You may fire when you are ready, Gridley," Gridley opened one of the most decisive engagements of the Spanish-American War. Homeported in Everett, Washington, Gridley has deployed throughout the Western Pacific in support of Pacific Fleet operations.
