USS Jason Dunham (DDG-109) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned in 2010 and named for Corporal Jason Dunham, the first Marine awarded the Medal of Honor since Vietnam. On April 14, 2004, in Karabilah, Iraq, Corporal Dunham used his helmet and his body to cover an enemy grenade, sacrificing his life to save two fellow Marines. His selfless valor represents the highest ideals of the Corps. Homeported in Mayport, Florida, she deploys in support of Atlantic Fleet and European operations.
