USS John S. McCain (DDG-56) Spiral Notebook

USS John S. McCain (DDG-56) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned in 1994 and named in honor of Admirals John S. McCain Sr. and John S. McCain Jr., father and son who both achieved the rank of Admiral — the only father-son pair in Navy history to do so. The ship carries on a legacy of naval service spanning two generations of distinguished leadership during World War II and the Cold War. Homeported in Yokosuka, Japan, she deploys throughout the Western Pacific as part of the Seventh Fleet.
