USS Hornet (CVS-12) Spiral Notebook

USS Hornet (CVS-12) was an Essex-class aircraft carrier with one of the most storied combat records of the Pacific war. Later serving off Vietnam, she made history as the recovery ship for Apollo 11 and Apollo 12, retrieving the first astronauts to return from the Moon. Reclassified CVA-12 in 1953 and CVS-12 in 1958, she was decommissioned in 1970 and is today a museum ship in Alameda, California.
