USS Thomas Hudner (DDG-116) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer named for Captain Thomas J. Hudner Jr., a Navy aviator awarded the Medal of Honor for deliberately crash-landing his Corsair on a frozen Korean mountainside in December 1950 to try to save his wingman, Ensign Jesse Brown, the Navy's first Black naval aviator. Homeported in Boston, Massachusetts, Thomas Hudner has deployed with the Sixth Fleet across the Atlantic and European waters.
