USS Higgins (DDG-76) Spiral Notebook

USS Higgins (DDG-76) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned in 1999 and homeported in San Diego, California. She is named for Colonel William R. Higgins, USMC, who was abducted and killed while serving with the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization in Lebanon in 1988 — a crime that drew worldwide condemnation. Higgins has deployed across the Pacific and Middle East in support of operations including Iraqi Freedom and maritime security patrols.
