USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CV-42) Spiral Notebook

USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CV-42), known as "Swanky Franky," was a Midway-class aircraft carrier commissioned in 1945 and named for the 32nd President. She served primarily in the Atlantic and Mediterranean during the Cold War era, becoming the first U.S. carrier to embark nuclear-capable aircraft in 1950. A testbed for many carrier aviation innovations, she was decommissioned in 1977.
