In 2008, USS Gridley (DDG-101) completed her maiden deployment, the first operational test for this Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer and her crew. Named in honor of Rear Admiral Charles Vernon Gridley and commissioned in 2003, Gridley set out to uphold a proud naval legacy on that first deployment to the Western Pacific. This sweatshirt commemorates her 2008 maiden deployment and honors the crew who served.
