USS Intrepid (CVS-11) 1969-70 MED Sweatshirt

In 1969-70, USS Intrepid (CVS-11) deployed to the Mediterranean, continuing the NATO antisubmarine warfare mission. Following her final Vietnam combat deployments, Intrepid returned to the Atlantic and Mediterranean theaters where Soviet submarines remained a constant and growing threat to Western naval supremacy — a mission as vital as any combat deployment she had undertaken.
