USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) 1977-78 Cruise Sweatshirt

<p>USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) was a Kitty Hawk-class supercarrier commissioned on April 29, 1961, and one of the longest-serving aircraft carriers in U.S. Navy history. During her 1977–78 Western Pacific deployment, Kitty Hawk operated with Carrier Air Wing Eleven, conducting presence operations across the Pacific and Indian Ocean during a period of heightened Cold War tensions following the fall of Saigon. Homeported at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, she was a flagship of American naval power throughout this era.
