USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) 1965-66 Cruise Sweatshirt

<p>USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) was a Kitty Hawk-class attack carrier commissioned on April 29, 1961. Her 1965–66 Western Pacific deployment marked her entry into the Vietnam War, as she joined the Navy's sustained air campaign against North Vietnam under Operation Rolling Thunder. Operating with Carrier Air Wing Eleven from Yankee Station in the Gulf of Tonkin, Kitty Hawk's aircraft flew hundreds of combat sorties against targets in North and South Vietnam. Homeported at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, she was at the tip of the spear in the Pacific war. This sweatshirt honors all who served aboard her during that combat deployment.</p>
