<p>USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) was a Kitty Hawk-class attack carrier commissioned on April 29, 1961. Her 1966–67 Western Pacific deployment continued her combat service in the Vietnam War, with Carrier Air Wing Eleven conducting strike operations against North Vietnam from Yankee Station in the Gulf of Tonkin. Operating alongside other carriers on the line, Kitty Hawk's pilots and crew faced intense anti-aircraft fire and the daily demands of sustained combat operations.
