USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) 1970-71 Cruise Sweatshirt

<p>USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) was a Kitty Hawk-class attack carrier commissioned on April 29, 1961. Her 1970–71 Western Pacific deployment came during a pivotal phase of the Vietnam War, as the U.S. pursued Vietnamization and gradually withdrew ground forces while continuing to support South Vietnam from the air. Operating with Carrier Air Wing Eleven from Yankee Station in the Gulf of Tonkin, Kitty Hawk's crew remained committed to the mission under increasingly complex conditions. Homeported at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, she answered every call. This sweatshirt honors all who served aboard her during that deployment.</p>
